Inala State School provides many
pathways for students to engage in sport and physical activity.
All students in years Prep - Year 6
participate in scheduled Physical Education classes that are aligned to HPE
National Curriculum as well as QCAA HPE curriculum. Examples of physical learning
activities include: swimming & water safety, fundamental movement skills, developing
gross & fine motor skills, applying gross & fine motor skills in physical
activities, minor games & traditional sports, as well as track & field.
Students also learn about the importance of playing together, getting along and
fair play.
Inala State School conducts a house
sports system comprising of three houses: BARRAKADAN - Boomerang, MUNGAR - Blue Gum Tree and NGURUM - Emu.
All
students belong to a house and compete for their house during the three annual
inter-house carnivals of Cross country, Athletics and Swimming. From these
three carnivals students are selected to represent Inala State School at
district carnivals for each sport. They then have the opportunity to be
selected from district carnivals to represent at higher levels.
Inala State School is affiliated to the
Metropolitan West School Sport Board. As well as three inter-house carnivals,
students at Inala State School have the opportunity to trial for all sports
supported by Met West Sport. Students will first trial at a district level. If
successful they will become a member or the Inala Primary Schools District
Team. As a member of this team they will then trial at the Met West regional
level with pathways available to continue as high as state and national
representative levels.
Inala State School is a member of
the Inala Primary Districts School Sports Association. Students in years 4, 5 and 6 at Inala State School compete in two inter-school sport seasons. The
